I have never seen it done. However, I have sat in both vehicles mentioned and those seats are super supportive.

Ebay has tons of cheap race seats. Usually around $250 a pair. I saw some on there yesterday that were the Sparco style and came with harnesses for $70 + 125 shipping for the pair of seats and seatbelts. I don't know about the quality, but you said you weren't looking to spend much $.

Well, if you want light but NICE, I'd say get these in cloth:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BLACK...15443512QQrdZ1

or if you want to keep the leather:

http://www.madracingconcepts.com/Seats/seats.htm

EVERY seat I showed you is $399 FOR THE PAIR... Now, my idea of a "racing" seat is not just a lightweight seat, it's a seat that also supports you in the corners. So if you're just drag racing you can probably find lighter and cheaper but definetly won't find anything with a style that will match your car like these do.

Best part is, you can easily sell leather Trans-Am seats for the price of ANY of the above mentioned seats ($400).

I forgot...

If you want the leather LOOK without the price:

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Black-Synthetic-Leather-Racing-Seats-JDM-Sliders-Type-R_W0QQitemZ170014201509QQihZ007QQcategoryZ33701QQr dZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
$350 SHIPPED, for the PAIR!
