I am getting the Z painted - what color?
Okay, here is the deal. I don't have a fortune to work with here, but a friend's dad does body and paint work and I have been told it will cost me around $1000-$1300 for him to paint my car. He painted said buddy's car and the panit job looks great! It has a better finish than factory paint, and by that I mean literally extremely little to no orange peel. I am taking the car to him monday to give me an accurate quote. There are some door dents in the quarters and minor scratches you would expect to see from a 99 model daily driver.
Here's the catch - my car is already black, and I do not want to do a complete color change because I am a college student and simply don't have that much money lying around. So, I am going to have it painted in another shade of black; that way it is less obvious when I open the hood.
I really like the BMW paint that LawmanSS used on his intake. It's called Black Sapphire Metallic and it's an awesome color. Does anyone have any other nice shades of black that they like or would recommend that would look good on a Camaro? If so, could you post up a color example please?

The first thing I was going to suggest was Black Sapphire Metallic, but I see you're already considering it.
Any kind of black with a noticable metallic sheen/flake should probably be your best bet and still look amazing.

+1 for the black with metal flake. I have also like black cherry colors. Or maybe respray the black with a very light blue/purple pearl to give it just a hint of something diff
