Default Window Tint removal

I was wondering if you guys had a suggested best way of removing window tint. I just bought a 99 SS and the windows are tinted, I live in PA and they will make me remove it at some point just looking for suggestions on how to remove it and not have it look like @$$. Thanks

I used a hair dryer to heat it up and it peeled right off. just be EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH THE BACK GLASS AND THE WINDOW DEFOGGER. Good Luck

I just pulled mine off. Then sprayed a water/soap solution and went over what ever stuck with a razor blade.

Depending on what quality the tint is, you might have a little trouble with it.
If the tint is te purplish color etc it is low grade tint and 95% of the time it peels off in little pieces. That can take hours to get off.

Normal decent tint, just grab the edge of it at the top of the window and peel slowly, just continue to do so the whole sheet will come off.
Next you have to remove the glue, a razor blade and some goo gone or something similar wil help out.

LOTS OF WINDEX or ammonia/water solution. CAREFUL w/the ammonia!

Try like 5 parts water & 1 part ammonia.

Man up and use gas. THat is the only thing that got it off my car i used windex and that white bathroom cleaner stuff that worked a little bit. But just get the paper towel a little damp and just scrub the **** out of it. Finish with windex. I would def try the whole hair dryer thing before the gas of course

Google "removing window tint" and see what you find.

Do not use a razor blade to get the glue off. It will scratch the glass. Use a razor just to start the tint in a corner and just pull it off. I used a portable Shark steam (like this) cleaner to get the glue off. Worked really well.

start on the corner of the window and work inward with a razor blade. try to take big pieces off at a time. once all tint is off soak the glass with window cleaner and start takin off glue left behind from the tint. this might take some time so take your time. then just rinse glass with water

I tint windows, and the best way is to get a corner loose and just rip it off. Then use a razor blade (I have solution called tint-off that is amazing) but you can use anytype of realitively potent cleaner to help it loosen up.
