Ran a kid who just drove back from the dodge dealer in his brand new silver SRT-8 charger. His dad just bought it for him and was saying how its got 430hp and its a 6.1 liter he didnt know too much about cars. So my friends like hey thsi kids trans am here makes 350hp and is a 5.7 liter. So the kids like ya ill beat him i have way more Hp and more liters i felt bad because it was brand new but i had to show this kid what the hell a LS1 can do. We go to road and run from a dig he takes off a 1/2 car early i dump at 2k and spin 1st and 2nd but already ahead of him I let off at the 1/8mile mark we have and im a good 2 cars ahead. 2 of my friends filmed it and the kid was amazed when he turned around and came back. I could only imagine if i sprayed the 150 shot on him.

Im full bolt ons and 4.10 with NX 150shot. No nitrous used this race. And a tune.

Nice Kill, I don't like shittalkers. Especially ones who don't even pay for thier ride, or alteast try to.

i had to show this kid what the hell a LS1 can do.
Pound for Pound, the 6.1 out muscles the LS2. Thank god those cars are heavy girths.

350hp at the wheels maybe...... :jest: Big difference, nice win. Being modified makes it easy. :jest:

stock for stock, it's a drivers race with those srt-8s. Damn things are quick. I'd give them the edge with equal drivers.

and those hemi's are nasty on the bottle.

Good kill!! Tell him power brake that Tank next time, or spot him a couple cars. LOL.

Maybe you should spray and run a 1/4 against his 1/8 mile

Stock SRT-8s are slow as hell cause of the weight. Much nicer car over all I believe, although Dodge's long term build quality is spotty at best. I dont get how it's a drivers race between an SRT-8 and an LS1 car. Most car rags cant get the SRT-8 into the 13s and most LS1s out there arent stock anymore. Much like the 5.0 mustang you gotta really look for a stock LS1 car.

Ya my buddy is going to run him tonight he has a 2000 ws6 formula just SLP exaust not even an airlid. He is a 6sp manual i will let you guys know the outcome.

i always see 13.3s in the car rags...the regular Hemis seem to have the 14sec problem

hell, they even got the Jeep SRT-8 to go 13.2 on more than one occasion...

You guys would love the SRT-8 Charger my engine shop just modded. It's got a nice little Procharger on it running 10 PSI and a 150 shot. No numbers yet but it looks bone stock. It oughta surprise a few peeps out there.

dHell I've seen the magazines state that the SRT-8 will go low 13's so that mean it's probably a little faster than that. The magazines always leave a little on the table. JMO.

:funny: What, lol, that's too funny. There's a few running 12s just like ls1s and the average srt runs low 13s? All bone stock.

Just a stall puts all of them in the 12s on street tires. Hell, just DRs put them in the 12s. NO srt has a problem hitting 13s, rofl.

And 150 shot on those damn things runs 11s all day long.

srt-8s do not struggle to get into the 13s except maybe the jeep lol. that's really, really funny. the cars do weigh around 4,000 lbs, but they've still got over 400hp/400tq. nothing to take lightly.

+1 those cars are fast.. Just a little heavy i have seen a stock srt-8 run 12.8 but also low 13's so they make very good power for that heavy ass car.. shit imagine that motor in my little formy..?

There was one at the strip I went to 2 weeks ago, younger guy, he was running like high 13's. Hell my ZR2 pickup was only 3 seconds slower

The one I ran was definetly suprised that a pickup truck (but he didn't know about the LS1 inside it) went the quarter mile almost right beside him. By the end, his rear bumper was at my front bumper.

He asked me what I'd done to my truck and I tried to just get away with telling him I had an LS1 in it. He said, "yeah right, what else? I have a stock LS1 at home and this thing'll beat it - what did you do to YOUR LS1?" I admitted to a cam.

I don't see how anyone eludes to calling them slow - even stock ones, cause their not but a few tenths behind a stock LS1.

my buddy in his 00 formula ws6 with only exaust ran him from a roll and he said going into 3rd he put about 3/4 of a car on him before he had to let off so that was a lot better of a race.

He's got one of the faster stock ones, they are rare but do indeed exist.

However, being a hemi powered owner, the pcm has always been the week point. After about 5k miles, the pcm releases additional power, for some unknown reason, the computer has a break-in period. Now I believe that superchips broke the code in the beginning of last year or the end of the 2004 year. So using a superchips programmer wakes up the that motor. I can't wait til hptuners comes out with their dodge credits, hehe. It's only a matter of time.

Good kill. Stock for stock though the Charger and 300 SRT-8's are slightly faster than LS1 F-Bod's. Of course the LS1 wins the bang for buck race.

Slow as hell?? There's guys who have run into the high 12's trapping at 108+ stock.
