Default G5X3 Cam with ET Heads

Has anyone tried this combo yet? If so did it make more power over the proven AFR 205s & G5X3 combo? Thanks

damn, link to that thread? I didn't find it.

I was planning on doing a G5X3 and ET215s (have both sitting on my floor) but I decided to go with a G5X4 (also sitting on my floor).

I'm sure it was a 90 mm FAST. I think you're the only person to ever use the 78mm (I kid, I kid).

A&A did 470rwhp with a Fast90 set-up and a 228/232 cam. 480 shouldn't be a problem with the G5X3.

Yeah, the LS2 results were ridiculous (498 rwhp and 467 rwtq) with the same mods. Frickin' 467 rwtq??? Insane. I'll be happy with 475 rwhp and 425 rwtq. G5X4, ETP 215s @ 59ccs, Ported FAST 90 should get me there.

You'll have no problem with a good tune. Good luck man, and post up your results. I have the 215's, 223/234 (yes I'm a *****) and a Fast 90. Waiting on PR's right now so no numbers yet.

I have 215s and 225s waiting to go on as soon as I get 07 PCM editing software. I will report back as soon as I find out

We will be continually testing combos and packages with new cams. I will update as I get info.

Thanks

Louis

There have been MANY 470+ AFR 205 X3 packages (probably dozens) and a handfull of 480+ results as well (FAST 90 of course). It's logical the ET 215 results would certainly be similar....

DO you have to fly cut with the x3 and afr 205?
What was the compression?
Do you have any graphs handy?

Should be a awsome combo.
The 205 AFR's and G5X3 make great results.
The ETP's should be just a good with that cam. The biggest gain I can see if the ETP's will allow a much better compression setup with that cam.
You can run the stock 62cc head with a .040 gasket and gain a better SCR, DCR and quench rate.

LG would be best to comment here (as they have installed countless numbers of them) but I believe a small notch on the intake side is required...personally I would do both.

Normally the CR is in the low-mid 11's....typical of where you should be with a cam that large. Runs on 92 pump all day long.

Depending on your setup, you may or may not have to flycut.

Give my guys a call at the shop to pick your specific package and the details with piston to valve clearance. Feel free to email me as well if you have specific questions you would like to ask me personally

The AFR 205/G5x3 package coupled with the FAST 90 is certainly a potent and proven package time and time again

I know this, but the original posting doesn't say C5 or C6. I just assumed C5.

I wish I would've went with the 90 mm FAST from the beginning. Tried to save a few bucks and didn't think I was going to go this far with my car. Wanted to stop at just LG's PRO long tubes, and the G5X3 with valvetrain upgrades. The the rest is history, Heads, EWP, Pully, G2 Radiator w/oil cooler, Exedy twin, DTE stg III, CF drive shaft, Wilwood front brakes and more **** that I can't remember. It sure is fun spending money when you have it to spend. Unfortunately I am out of money at this time LOL>

Nothing unfortunate about your car/set-up Doug. Your making great power and having tonnes of fun without breaking parts. That's all any of us could hope for.

No offense taken, I just didn't know what the author was driving. Lots of C5 guys out there still running 78's.

Thanks for the comments about tons of power, tons of fun, and not breaking anything. Yet !! I really tried to use parts that could handle way more then the stress the current motor would place on them. I don't beat on this car too bad anyways. Just some roll racing and a few punches around town if I am out doing errands. Hope it lasts a long time. Thanks again.
