Default Some Hi-Flo shiznit came in today.... (pics)

its to bad that i have to post this and Hi-Flo isnt on a better note, but i got my headers and crossover today, nothing else. i was expecting the intercooler though. the headers are very nice quality and welds look pretty good, nice powdercoat also. i cant really do anything with the stuff until i get the rest, but at least i know they did something over there.......

TO BILL: just let me know when the rest of the stuff is coming......

THIS IS NOT a bash thread, this is a strictly my turbo kit thread, there are more then enough other threads to yell at Hi-Flo in.....

I swear if another person brings up welds...just because the weld doesn't "look" as neat as another doesn't necessarily mean it isn't as structurally sound. Also the type of weld being done and the material it is being done on make a difference!

Looks like the welds on the black setup were done with a MIG. While they may hold, they look pretty cobby.
The weld in the other pic looks pretty well done- excellent in fact.

The strength of the weld is going to be in how well the 2 target materials are interfaced right at the joint. Building up a big gob of metal on top of thin material is not really doing a lot for you other than generating a lot of heat and often making everythign more prone to cracks, warping etc...
Of course, in the hands of a really prefessional welding expert, either process would work and give you positive results.

Hope that works out for you. If you ever have the option, ask for TIG welded parts and you may be more happy with the results.

It'd be nice to see a struggling sponsor to fully recover and not shaft a bunch of people out kits... The best of luck

Enough about the quality of the pics and quality of the welds. Time will tell how the kits will hold up, so give it a rest and give these guys time to get the parts together to get a running car again.

Enough with welds already its a BUDGET turbo kit not the friggin space shuttle. If the turbo falls off in a week then bitch. Some of you guys sit down and TIG up a set of turbo headers and then tell me how much it should cost, sheesh.

Sponsor, ex-sponsor or whatever I have seen some bird crap MIG welded turbo setups that lasted years and perfect looking TIG welded ones crack in a week..
