Default Gears or Stall???

I hate my lowend to no end... It sucks compared to my M6 LT1. I have been reading alot and it seems that many people end up getting a 3500 + stall and end up keeping the 2.73s. I have considered getting an M6 rear and swapping it to avoid the Strange gears (probably 3.42s) if I go the gear route. I am leaning more toward a 3500 stall though. What do you guys think?

Yeah they suck.. I need to atleast step it up to 3.23s. I wish someone with 2.73s and a stall would chime in.

I know where you're coming from. I had a 3.23 LT1 Formula, and when I got my 2.73 LS1 Formula, I hated the gearing around town, even though the car was faster overall. I got rid of my 2.73's as soon as I could. If your goal is simply to better your ET as much as possible, get a stall. If driveability is more important, get gears first. AFAIC, a stall with 2.73's going to feel crappy anyway - real loose.

i bought a 4000 stall but havent gotten installed yet, but i'm keeping my 2.73's til i buy a 12 bolt... most people that i talked to with 2.73s say like them, save some gas mileage and help out with traction... btw i'm went with a 4000 stall with 2.4 str

My car has a 3400 and a 2.73's.. Its prefectly drivable. the car rolls when I take my foot off the brake and drives pretty normal. I don't see how people say stalls wiht 2.73's are soo horrible and BS. I put 250mi a week on my car no problems. Car before stall ran 13.35's.. after the stall 12.68@105 and cut 1.68-1.71 60's. on drag radials. Also the stall has no effect on highway driving either.. my car cruises at 1800rpm and my mileage didn't change.

Gears are good and will help but not all that much. I've driven an A4 with a 3.42 before I had the stall and it was better than a 2.73 geared car but after I drove a stalled car.. whew.. yeah I said screw the gears!! Stall all the way.

Pretty much exactly what I was going to say. My old 2000 Z28 had full exhaust with 2.73s and a 3400 stall. It was loose, but would've really felt a lot better with some tuning. Highway cruising was still great and the car pulled like a raped ape at WOT.
