Default TTIIs/315s/AC Soooo Sloooow...

I recently got TTIIs with 315s and today I had the AC on about medium and got on it kinda hard and was like damn this is sluggish. I was wondering what you guys thought those wheels/tires would cut on my hp (heavy rotating mass) and also how much running the AC cuts into it. It feels like i lost about 30hp with those wheels/tires and the AC on HAHA

I know it has to suck some bc its more rotating mass and the AC is a pull on the motor. I was just wondering if someone knew like adding that weight/size wheels tires after running stock ones how much it would harm performace, also the AC, it prob pulls 5hp or something maybe. But i had 16x8 245s and now 17x11 315s so its gonna hurt performance.

That wheel/tire combination is very heavy. You'd be amazed the effect that wheel/tire weight will have on the way you car drives/accelerates/handles.

Its noticeable off the line with those heavy wheels/tires. Im putting in LTs, ORY, Magnaflow catback, and 3.90 gears (A4) in two weeks so I won't be able to tell anymore haha.

It's definitely not the AC since it turns off at WOT on all LSX cars.

I know AC pulls on the motor, and i did recently learn that it cuts off on WOT. This wasnt WOT just getting on it a little in traffic, not driving SUPER hard but alot harder than my granmother would haha. Its gotta be mostly the wheels/tires. I wonder how much weight I added with those wheels/tires???

If you do 315s you will notice a loss, especially off the line. Just do another mod at the same time and you wont notice HAHAHA. Luckily im having LTs, ORY, Magnaflow Catback, and 3.73 gears installed in about 2 weeks

Before (on stock rims and tires): 333rwhp
After (315/35/17 Goodyear GSD3's and 17x11 ZR1's): 320rwhp

Yes, it makes a big difference.

I've noticed real big difference going from my stock 16" rims with drag radials to my ZR1 17x9.5/11 combo with drag radials. Car hooked the same, just felt like a pooch compared to the lighter stock rims. I can't wait to try out my Bogart skinnies and rear drag wheels.

Damn, guess I'll have to do something to make up for my power loss then. They still look damn good even to rob a couple horses, it's just like the a/c. People always say it's better to remove the a/c so you won't loose power, screw that, I'd rather be nice and cool and loose a couple then be sweating my *** off. How much does the 315's throw the speedometer off? I was curious about that as well. Didn't mean to threadjack!

The height of the tire is what will change speedometer reading, and 315/35/17's are the same height as 275/40/17's and 245/50/16's. Width has nothing to do with it.

How heavy are TT2's? My Budnik 17"x11"'s were lighter than my stock wheels.

13 horse loss? damn, . . well, when i get on it i have horrible wheel hop and my tires don't grip at all, . . . adding this wheel combo should plant my ta down, . . . do you think there is a quarter mile difference? i mean if you got 315's shouldn't you hook better and therefore rip through that 1st gear faster despite losing a few ponies??

I'm not sure how much the TTII's weigh, but when I ran 315's and 17x11 ZR1's I noticed a considerable difference b/w those and my stockers. I then got a set of silver WS6's from a local guy that weighed in @ 18lbs (1lb heavier than 17x9.5 FM5's) and felt the power back cause they actually weighed less than my stock chrome wheels.

So yes heavier wheels and tires will hurt your performance obviously. It's heavier rotating mass.
