I have to buy so much more still...
I have...
-the rad done.
-all the hotside pipes and pipes to do down pipe.
-cheaper turbo for temp use.
-tuning cable and software.
I Need...
-oil feed and return.
-Intercooler.
-Blow off and wastegate.
-cold side pipes.
-injectors.
-OBDI PCM.
I am 18 and jsut did graduate, so things are slow. But they are coming along (at least the parts are makign their way in finnaly).
I know you are all the experts in the ls1 field, but there are a few bad as F/I lt1s on the board and their help will be needed!
Thanks a lot guys! and any tips or input is great!
ENJOY!

Looks real good so far, just take your time and don't rush things. Thats the main thing I have learned while building my car, it really pays to take the time and get the right parts installed correctly.
Unless you like to tear **** back apart and redo it of course

Mine are el'cheapo XS power headers.
I haven't decided if i want to cut the damn ball flange off and weld a v-band on or if im goign to cut the ball part off and use the normal 3 bolt header flange yet.

-But one these headers are coated and dont want to recoat.
-Two. V-Bands are $$$ (not a big reason not to do it.. jstu a reason..lol)
-Three. I would WANT to have someone else weld them on because I definitly don't want to have a *OOPS* on a nice exspensive v-band on my headers. And this would really raise the cost of it on top of not having a single idea who I would have do it.
Any suggestions on overcoming these problems then I'll get to ordering some 3" v-bands...

Welding up a v band is no harder than welding up pipe to pipe really.
Just slip it over the pipe tack in 4 places and finish weld it up. Use another short section of pipe from the front to keep it aligned when tacking it up. Works like a charm.
But I hear you on the coated stuff, no easy way around that.
The V bands can be had for pretty cheap, quality stuff too.

If you just grind off some of the coating/welded on the ball flange part as I pointed out, then the rest of the header (inclusing 3 bolt flage) will look $$$ when people look under the hood.
I may just use a cutoff wheel to cut off the flange part of the 3-bolt setup and weld to the ball are like you suggested... think it would still look fine?
