Unhappy It Wont Shift Out Of First!

After talkin with some of the ls1 s10 on here I had come to the conclusion that my VSS sensor on the tailshaft of my 4L60E from a 2000 camaro was bad. I changed it and it still wont shift out of first and my speedometer dosent register either.

Does the the black vaccum looking line on top of the transmission need to be attched to something? If so what does it need to be attacthed too?

Any thought would be great guys, thanks for the help.

Since you already changed the VSS, I'd start with the next simplest ... check the wires (for breaks etc.) leading from the VSS. Worst case, it's a computer component (I think it's called a DRAC .. it was on my truck anyway). I'm way more familiar with my trucks trans/computer than my car ... just haven't had to cross any bridges there yet.

Have you done any work under the car where you may have pinched a wire? Did you run over anything maybe?

As to the tube on top of the trans .. I believe it's a vent. It's not supposed to be hooked to anything

I hope that helps!
Good luck!
