Maybe a wheel sensor is out or ABS module. When the ABS light comes on the ABS is automatically disabled. Your brakes should work just fine, just no ABS. If your brake fluid is low, the brake light will come on (the same light will come on when you pull your emergency brake)

arent you the guy that was calling out all these badass drag cars earlierand stirin up trouble?....and you dont know what ABS stands for..??
Anyways it means Anti Lock Brakes, and sometimes like if you dyno ur car and senses if the front wheels arent moving and there rear wheels are moving itll set it off. OR when ever u have to stop ur car abruptly it might set it off. Make sure its filled properly to ensure it functions properly.
Hope that helped, later.

If its a wheel speed sensor its mostlikley the rear, its mounted on top of the Diff. You can still use the brakes but as long as its on the electronic porportioning valve will heavily bias the rear brakes. That means not hard stops at speeds above 40 because the rear can, and will lock up causing you to loose control.
