Talking 19" Rims What size Tire? (Not a Repost)

This is My first Post, I checked all 29 pages of the "Does This Fit Thread" and this is not on there so here we go.

Im looking to Buy These SPEED ENVY WHEELS (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-St...spagenameZWDVW)

But Im going to do 19x9.5 with a 38mm offset in the rear.. And they will be 19x8.5 with a 38mm offset in the front....What size tires?

But I I might do a 18x8 with a 40mm offset or a 18x9 with a 38mm offset.... For the front instead of 19s all the way around... What size tire? I know the width 245 for the 18x8 and a 275 for the 18x9 but what series tire? 35? or 40?

I say go with the 18s and get the 245/35/18 and 275/35/18 in my opinion. Then post pictures

It is hard to pull off 19s on an F body. 18's are the best IMHO. 19s have absolutely no traction, which is definitely a necessity on these cars.

Offset has absolutely nothing to do with choosing the tire size . . . .

19x8.5 would best run a 245/35ZR19

19x9.5 would be best to run a 275/30ZR19

18X8 would run a 245/40ZR18

18x9 would run a 275/35ZR18

I found that out the hard way this friday. 285/30/19 got me some 2.45 60' s.

I've been looking at some C6 rims for my 2000 WS6. I'm looking at the 5 spoke 18" x 8.5" in the front and 19" x 10 in the rear but I keep seeing people say that 19s have trouble with traction. How is this possible if it is wider than the stock rims. I'm not very knowledgable with rims/tires so I appreciate any info. Thanks.

Less sidewall equals loss of traction.

I have 19x9s and 19x10s. I run 265/30s in the front and 295/30s in the rear. Looks perfect on my lowered ride. I may do 275/30s on the front next time for a little more sidewall, the 265/30s make me nervous.
This size combo would be just fine with 19x8.5s and 19x9.5s too.

Are you guy's f'n crazy? Or just plain dumb? Less side wall does NOT equal less traction. Look at all the specific built road race super cars.... they are all built with large diameter wheels, short sidewalls. Heres an example close to home... the C6 ZO6. The problem I see is no one here is willing to spend the coin on a quality tire. 19's look great on f-bodies. I ran 19" HP Evo's on my 35th for two years straight, and loved them and loved the Michelin Pilot tires I ran too. 275/30/19's on all four corners.

I think we're talking about drag racing kind of traction, not road racing or cars with independent rear suspensions. I'm looking to sell my 19" HP Evo's with $300 Dunlops because I get zero traction in first gear with a basically stock car. Granted, highway on/off ramps are fantastic...
