New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - 00 ss / 97 trans

Hey everyone whats up. Presently at this time i own a 97 T/A and im ready for a change. i am considering a 00 camaro z28 ss im just wonder though what kind of power difference i will see. and if it would be smarter to go with something like a wrx sti. thanx :lurk:

I would stay away from the STI as they tend to eat trannies...otherwise they are not bad cars. The ls1 will obviously be faster than your lt1 (I'd bet by about 30-50 hp). If you are planning a future head/cam build up for both there is not all that much of a difference as the ls1 heads are really what make it shine over the lt-1.

Drive both then decide for yourself.

the ls1 is a beautiful thing....but uve got a bird soooo hmmm

I think you're going to get a lot of one sided answers here.

STi's are ok I guess.. but I think they are kinda ugly.

can't go wrong with an LS1

LT1 Car = Low 14s to high 13s stock
LS1 Car = Mid to Low 13s stock
STI = Mid to Low 13s Stock....

I guess you just need to drive them to figure it out... me personally... I couldnt handle the AWD rally car feel...
