Default Clutch disc question

Recently, I missed 2nd gear and the transmission jammed. I could shift fine with the engine off, but couldn't get the clutch to completely disengage. When I pulled the tranny, I found that a pressure spring had fallen out of the clutch disc. It's an 11in Zoom if it matters. Anyways, is this a result of a missed gear, part defect, poor quality, or ?????? Thanks

It is a result of abuse over time. What is the clutch rated at?

I don't remember, it was their street/strip setup though. It's onlya year and a half old with no trips to the strip and not a godawful amount of miles. I was running 28" tall tires with 3.08 gears for awhile though and it was a dog off the line

same thing happened to me, but on a spec 3. best thing I can recommend is to do the drill mod, throw in new hydros on both ends and get a clutch with a springless disk.
