Stereo & Electronics - Is this ok?

Hey guys. Ive had alittle experience with car stereos (installed a system in my old car) but am no expert. Just wanted to get you guys opinions of whether this system will work before I start buyin. Btw I have a 98 v6 firebird. Here it is:

Kenwood KDC-X990 head unit

Alpine SPR-17LP 6.5" Type-R speakers. Door and sail panel

Alpine MRP-F250 4 channel amp 40 x 4 @ 4 ohms

Alpine SWS-1022D 10" dual 2 ohm coil sub

Alpine MRP-M350 V-Power mono amp 350 x 1 @ 2 ohms

Drivers side Subthump Stealth Box

Subthump amp rack

Dual amp wiring kit

sorry, I stay away from brand name specific discussions as it all boils down to peoples personal favorites for whatever reasons. I certainly try to limit and brand or product specific talk to those I can personally vouch for.

I am not familiar with any of the equipment you've mentioned. But Alpine and Kenwood are both solid brands, so you can't go too wrong there.

hmmm, i think u may ahve misunderstood my question. Im not talkin bout the quality of the specific products, talkin bout if my ohms of speakers and subs match up with the amps ohms and things like that lol

I see.... you will want a dual 4 ohm sub, wire the coils in paralel, to get that amp the 2 ohm load it wants.

sorry i screwed up, went back and repaired my mistake. Mike is right about two 4 ohm loads in parallel produce a 2 ohm final load.

thats ok lol, so the 1042, which is dual 4 ohm, will get the 350 watts from the amp at 2 ohms right? so damn confusing lol

yeah i hat ohms. But... the 4 ohm, when run in parallel produce a 2 ohm load giving it the 300 rms it needs.

Parallel is when you take the + from the first amp channel to the + on the first voice coil then the - on the first voice coil to the + on the 2nd voice coil and the - on the second voice coil to the - on the second amp channel is it not??? Or is that a series? Blah.

that's series.

parallel is + amp terminal to + of 1st coil. then daisy chain another wire from the + of the 1st coil to the + of the second coil.

repeat the same sequence for the - terminals and coils.
