Default Is 21MPG Bad??????

Well, I drove 285 miles on 1 tank of gas. I put in 13.7 gallons, so it's close to 21. Now, was puzzles me is most is highway miles driving to work, with a little city. Never pushing it or WOT, babying the car basically. The window sticker says 30MPG highway and 19 city. Why am I only getting 21 if it's mostly highway? I just filled up and put a can of the STP gas/fuel injector/carburator cleaner in it. Any suggestions?

That is definetly not very good. Thats what i got with all highway driving (85-95) in my 400hp car. Have you checked your air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and 02 sensors?

Change your MAF back to stock if you can and try it again. That could be it. I have an A4 and I get 21 mpg average with a mix of city and highway. I consider it pretty bad, because I used to get 24-25 mixed and around 29-30 highway before my header install. Also have an SLP 85mm MAF that i think is doing some of the damage to my gas mileage. Id be interested in seeing if it helps yours to go back to stock from the Granatelli.

51,000 miles. Only mods are in sig, nothing major that would need a lot more gas. Mostly high way driving, with a little city thrown in, but thats just from my house to the high way which is about 2 miles from my house. Like I said, I baby it, never WOT, just put some STP fuel injector cleaner/carburator cleaner in it, maybe thinking bout puttin a bottle of the STP Gas cleaner stuff in there, says it improves gas mileage. K & N air filter, maybe I need to clean that. No signifigant changes though that I would think would use more gas. The MAF is something I could look into changing, i still have the stock one around...

Now, driving to work everyday is on the highway, but I only live 15 miles from work, so I am on the highway for like 13 miles then shut it off. So, could it be that it's still considered city driving? I mean, if I took a trip for 50 miles, then maybe I would get the 28/29 miles on the highway? Cause I really am not driving long on the highway maybe to fully save gas. lemme know some opinions if this makes sense.
