Default would a cat from 2001 TA fit a 2000 TA?

Would a factory catalytic converter off a 2001 WS6 fit a 2000 Trans Am? Is there anything special that needs to be done? Thanks

Dunno for sure, which one? Check the PN's for each year. Are you past 80K?

Yes it will fit, so long as you are swapping a driver's side with a driver's side or a passenger's side with a passenger's side.

'00-'02 use the same exhaust configuration.

Nothing special involved. But be prepared to break a stud somewhere, likely on the manifold to cat connection flange. If you have a lot of miles they tend to seize and snap. Use some PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench on the bolts first.

Honestly I dont think using liquid wrench or even the almighty PB blaster would help. Your most likely going to break those studs.

The dealer just replaced my cat under warranty and the service writer told me that they had to remove the exhaust manifold after breaking two studs still not being able to get the thing off.
