Default installed racetronix PnP fuel pump

just installed fuel pump about a month ago and got to running the car a lot and i flashed (tuned) it several times. now that the car is actually seeing the road

I was going to a friends house, cut the car off once i got there. then we were going to leave and the damn fuel pressure was at 5psi (don't ask me if the gauge works, i know it works so don't ask) and the car wouldn't crank.

waited 10 min.. tried again fuel pressure was fine at 50psi cranked the car and left.

then i was driving down speedway blvd in charlotte and the damn pump gave out on me while i was doing 50mph down the road and cars were around me, the car died, i killed the ignition turned ignition back on and all of a sudden it worked, cranked the car and went back to driving.....

going to order a WALBRO pump and replace this racetronix. Don't get me wrong, the racetronix whole kit PnP setup is AWESOME. I love it, but i mean WTF

so far it has done this to me 4 times. 1 while driving and 3 times when stopping and going

well, i'm wondering right now if the relay that is in the car just sucks ***

the car was fine. then after some time it starts not working after it gets hot and used for a while. Well what i'm thinking is the relay between the contacts has built up oxidation, causing weird issues for it not to work at random times...

maybe i'm wrong, maybe i'm on to something... we will see tomorrow.
going to wire up the racetronix relay wiring on the car and check it all out

are you saying that you are running there racetronixs pump without there relay and wiring upgrade.that pump draws a lot more amperage, also the stock wiring isnt large enuff for an upgrade of any kind because there is a significant voltage drop at the pump,im sure it will work but it is going to be harmfull to the pump itself, you are also overloading the stock pump relay it is not large enuff for anything other than stock, that also is more than likely damaged,do your self a favor and upgrade your wiring and install a relay.

SO, for the stock relay the new pump is too much?

so how many people up here have done what i did and not use Racetronix's relay? because that is probably what is wrong

if you replace one weak spot, you gotta replace another weak spot.... and so on

I will replace the relay and see how it works

has anyone swapped relays for a higher rated relay or what not and had problems?

hey ive had mine forever and i installed it with everythign else that comes with the kit thats why its a "kit"....anyways i did my racetronix PnP a whillllllle ago like almost a year ago and its been awesome since day 1....no problems what-so-ever...wire it differently (with the cool little relay and the thicker wires it comes with and you SHOULD be fine...if there arent any other issues you need to take care of..), these kits/pumps do take up more power so it makes sense that your walbro pump is overheating due to stock shitty wire and relay running it...hope this helps good LUCK man!!!!

its the relay, the pump itself is not overheating, thanks for your feedback
