Found a disassembled '99 LS1 longblock w/ 40K miles for $1200 and a LQ4 / 3K miles that needs new rings (not sure why yet) for $800.
Also found a good 4L60E for $300
These good deals??

IMO it kinda depends on what all is included. Such as accessories, coil packs, intake, etc. Cause some of that stuff may be tough to find, or nickle and dime you to death therefore killing the "deal"

Well I have coils, u/d pulley, a/c compressor, p/s pump, and I'm thinking about doing a carb and stuffing into my monza or a Saab 900. (most likely the monza since it's already rear drive.

Whoa,,, I haven't even seen a Monza (or a Vega for that matter), on the road in soooo long.
Ya, 1200 for an LS1 in pieces isn't that great, especially if it doesn't include accessories, harness/pcm, sensors etc.. That shit adds up quick when you start piecing things together. I'd say closer to 6-700 if everything is in good enough shape to slap it together and doesn't include anything else. Question is,,,, why was it dismantled to begin with?

But blocks are still worth at least 500-600 alone though.

Jason, please give me a hollar. I have my stock LS1 longblock that has been freshly honed and ready for assembly!
