Just like the title says. Please post if you had race style and any special methods you used. We've all heard alot about how they don't fit, so now let's hear about how they did.

I had no issues with fitment with the QTP's, they just slide right in and bolted right up. I am using the race headers.

I purchased the air emissions compliant QTP headers for my '02 bird. My passenger’s side header appears to be top notch quality. The driver's side looks like the resident drunk/crack ***** made it. The HVMC was dented twice near the merge collector which caused the aft end of the HVMC to be severely egged shaped. I took pictures of this and sent it to QTP and the response was : “It appears to be as it should be". On closer inspection the air fitting wasn't drilled thru the primary. I had to take a pencil grinder to remove a large piece of welding slag or other debris that couldn't be drilled thru because it was so hard. I took care of that and drilled it out to size. I had major over-weld in the I.D. of all four primary tube collectors (at the header/engine interface) and had to grind it out.
Now the problem I have is the header interface flange wasn't milled all the way across and the far outside bolt "ears" are not flat with the mounting surface and I fear if it isn't milled flat that after awhile the flange will bend/warp and result in an exhaust leak. QTP seems to only stand behind their product if there is no problem.

I am a very unhappy customer, needless to say.
I have to say I won't ever buy anything from QTP again.

I have the new HVMC and fit like a glove. Pick them directly from QTP. Even watched them make my header. Cool stuff. Quailty is awesome and power is great.

I have new QTPs with the HVMCs race style. No fitment or clearance issues. Looked pretty good but there was a little bit of ovalness on both of the collectors which a quick foot stomp fixed. The passenger side flange had a nick or 2 that hadn't been sanded/buffed all the way flat but it wasn't enough to make them leak. I have a few pics of the passenger side if you want to see.

Sorry but our headers are made in house. We did have some on 2 batches ago that had some problems that we took care of. The most recent ones(200 of them) have no issues. But as these cars are getting older clerance issues might come up more. The headers were designed off a new car. If a car with high mileage or chasis damage might have a problem. And if the motor mounts are little on the worn side, it also migh be an issue. We test fit a handful of headers on our project camaro to make sure everything is good. If anyone has any questions feel free to call us.

Listen guys.. I feel VERY badly since I was the one to "break" it on the internet that qtp was being outsourced in china.

Unfortunately, I spoke WAAAAY to soon and learned a valuable lesson.

QTP is made inhouse. I went on some bad information that it was china shipped.

So please.. dont think they are made in china.. they are not.

Sorry again Barry and the rest of the quick time performance guys for making such a living hell for you.

I REALLY appologize

Yes. Passenger side hit the K-member. I know a very good mechanic that heated up the headers and had them re-bent away from the K-member. This prevented me from having to cut into the frame.

That is incorrect. My driver's side header sure has problems and it came out of the recent batch.

HVMC is High Velocity Merge Collector.

The Y-Pipe is a good design and you do need to spend some time getting it adjusted correctly. I have excellent ground clearance with the QTP Catted Y-Pipe.

Quick Reply: Has anybody not had clearance issues with the new QTPs?
