Authentic WS6?
I've got a question about a "WS6" that one of my co-workers is interested in buying. I just want to make sure he doesn't get screwed. Anyways, the seller is asking $18K for a 2002 WS6 6 spd with 60,000 miles on it. IMO, the car does not look like a WS6. It has the regular painted 16" 5 spoke wheels, no WS6 badge in the rear, and the car did not sit quite like a WS6. If my memory serves me correctly, the WS6 package includes 17" wheels, lowered suspension, WS6 badge on the rear, and a special Ram Air hood (?). Am I correct, or did I miss something? He talked to the seller on the phone and he was certain it was a WS6, which is why he is asking $18K for it. Also, will the VIN # tell me if it's an authentic WS6? Is the seller trying to get extra money from his fake WS6 or is the car for real? Any info would be appreciated!

WS6s are not lowered. but yes, the other things you mentioned are obvious clues - also it should have a raised airbox with Ram Air sticker on top of the lid.
the code on the door sticker is the best way to see.

Look on the door like others have said, but like you said the 02's difinetely come with 17" high polished aluminum wheels....unless for some reason if the dumbass ordered it he opted to get shitty wheels...

Check for the RPO code on the door. If it is a true WS6 it should have visual clues of...
Ram Air hood
17" wheels
Ram Air air box
Ram Air badging, but that could of have been removed
The Ram Air cars had different suspension parts, but there is no visual way to see that. There is no way to check thru the vin either unless you go thru Pontiac historical dept, that wil cost ya some $$$ and soem time.

WRONG! Any G.M. dealer can "run" the vin in the parts dept. (even over the phone) and tell you what any of the options are on that car. very simple!!! Where do some of you guys come up with your info anyway?
