Default Will this tranny fit my car?

My friend in has a 97 Camaro and he never got his car running right after he spend 1400 and rebuilding the transmission. He states that it is a 4L60E and it will fit my car....im in need of a new transmission and he is giving me a heck of a deal....so do 4L60E fit the LT1's too. I might be picking it up tomorrow so let me know...another thing maybe he upgraded his hole transmission due to the fact that he was pushing so much power. well any help will greatly be appreciated. thanks.

The input shaft is different, so you will need a custom converter to mate the LT 4L60E to an LS1. Although they are similar, they are not the same transmission due to slight variations that would hind installation. You may be able to bolt up the converter if you still have the OE flexplate, but you will need spacers to account for the gap of the flexplate and converter mount flange. If it is over 1/8" gap, you will need appropriate spacers.
