I posted a few monts ago and got no response. Before the year is out, I will have a '04 GTO. It will be modded <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Are there any shops that sell parts for the Holden like headers, intake, catback, ect.? I imagine the GTO will be able to use the same stuff. Anyone?

I'll bet alot of stuff, like headers, won't fit the US version because our steering wheel is on the opposite site and headers have to clear the steering shaft. I wonder if anything else under the hood is rearranged opposite.

The good thing is that all of our internal LS1 modifications will be the same <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

That's the nice thing about having a big cube motor. You can just take it with you when you get rid whatever vehicle it was in.(suitcase motor) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> This is assuming you buy another vehicle with a LS1 variant. The GTO is looking like that vehicle. <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

tony you are right, the headers won't fit. we tried to order a set for a friend of mine and the header company said that it won't fit.

from what i have seen , the firs mod to do is change the intake tube. it resembles an intake on an lt1 car and breathes through a gap around the headlight.

another thing i noticed is a slight rear end dive upon acceleration, so keep on the look out for suspension mods to help the traction department.

Doh, I didn't think about the steering shaft. I bet the first shop to make headers will charge like $1500 lol

Squat is just waisting time/energy getting power to the tyres.

exactly what v8 ute said!

you actually would want "unsquat" or lift upon accel. that way the rear tires get "pushed" or planted into the ground for more traction.

We should ask some of our fellow guys on this board who have them over there. Chevy sells the cars over there. Not sure if the coupe (Monaro) is sold over there, but they do sell the 4-door (called a Lumina, yeah, not our Lumina). Take care.

Oh and it wont be $1500 for the headers either.

From the engine compartment pics I see, it looks like a magnacharger will fit in there quite nicely. Hood clearance tho? I don't like the hood anyway VFN should be able to do a fiberglass hood in no time flat
Barry you'll probably charge 1200 for the headers+300 for the ypipe J/K

What about tuning?

Magnacharger and headers and a nice catback.. that would be the perfect package on that car.

ls1edit is available for the Holdens

Not as easy with LS1EDIT, as i spoke to Peter Starr about the installation you need to install there programmed PCM on exchanged basis, which has been calibrated correctly, also the car run a 2 bar map sensor, which LS1EDIT can't see, to tune correctly.

no, i belive they are different. the corvette has it's tranny in the rear but the GTO will have it up front.

Here a few more to look at.
http://www.darrendifilippo.com.au/
This company make extractor's for the LS1 Gen 3 engine just email them, as there not show on they site.
http://www.advanceheaders.com.au/
This company you need to order A316.

Personally most of the Guy's here have tested all of them, and the best all round headers are the Pacemakers.

Pacemakers are for the N/a application to mild tuned cars.

Di filippos headers are the dux guts on a Monaro , so far they have outperformed on anything from a stocker to a full big cube motor , good alround header for both low down torque and high rpm power.

That blown autorotor setup was awesome to drive on the streets after a tune , just need to work out how to get one for my Monaro

Great to hear there Delco, you got you head wrapped around LS1EDIT so quickly. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

How strong is the rear end in this thing? Will it stand up to a 'little' abuse? If I end up with a GTO, the first thing I'm gonna want to do is slap heads/cam/converter on it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I dont just use LS1edit , I have been playing with Delco's for near on 10 years now so the LS1pcm is just a evolution of the same PCM coding.

LS1EDIT has just made a easier interface for the layman to use <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
The PCM has a lot more stuff in there you dont get to see with edit <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" /> , blower code is hidden deep in there as std

My car have 288RWHP and is on it 2nd diff, the first one pack it in after 30,000kays.
This 2nd diff which is a 3.46 up from 3.07 stock is starting to clunk now at 50,000kays, with this extra horsepower.
Common fault on the Holden Commodore here, you abuse the car, the frist think that goes is the clutch follow by the diff.
