Default Q for those with aftermarket regulator..

I just fired up my fuel system and I have a question... I turn the key and it builds the FP just fine (found out on accidents that itll peg a 100 PSI needle quickly ), but when it stops priming, the pressure drops to 0 just as fast as it went up. Is it supposed to do that? Its seems to me that it would make it hard to start with no pressure in the rails... I cant attenpt to start the car to see.

Mine does that too, but my system isn't a prime and disable it runs long as they key is on.

the magnafuel pump has no one way check valve so as soon as the pump stops the pressure drops. The pump will run when the car is cranking so starting shouldnt be a big deal but it will probbaly take an extra couple cranks. You can buy a check valve from aeromotive that goes inline with a -8 fitting if it bothers you but some aftermarket regulators will bleed down after a few seconds anyhow..

*edit: oops, aermotive ony makes a -6 and -10 check valve. Earls makes a -8 one though.

I dont care as long as the car starts.

I have the stock pump power wire as the trigger for the relay. Thats why the prime cycle still works.

I prefer letting the pcm control it, if something was to happen and the car dies the pump will shut off - thats a good thing especially if its a big fuel leak

Nope, rev limiter shuts off injectors.
