Installed HID's on my TA today.
A few months ago I used some Hella 55mm projector housings,
Using the projectors, I modified the backing plates, to put 4 1/8" bolts to hold the hella projectors in place, and cut the back off using a cutoff wheel. Be careful to not cut too much, since part of the backing plate isneeded to keep the housings in place.
Image of the housings done, lights on with the halogen lights installed (55watt)
i had to grind out the black plastic covers for the stock lights, and I still need to make a plate to hide part of the projectors. (but the headlights are on only during the day, so it does not look bad)
This improvement was MUCH better than the stock lights, and would be good enough, but I wanted to get HID's.
I purchased them off ebay for the H9 sockets. I built a wiring harness, relay, and fuse to connect them directly to the battery, to make sure there was no overload of the factory wiring.
I will post pics tonight of the beam pattern.
