Default TT2 Question

Ok, eventually i would like to get some TT2s for my car, here is my question-
I have always seemed to have a hard time grasping what all the different numbers mean for wheels and tires, i tried to use the fitment guide but i just got more confused, if i want to run 315s in the back and 275s up front that means i need 17*11s in the back and 17*9.5 in the front correct? Also, i dont understant he whole offset thing, what does it mean barney style, and which one would i need? Please try not too flame me too hard guys, just lookin for some help!

ya, you'd need 17x9.5/17x11 for those tire sizes.
you need
17x9.5 46 offset 7in backspacing
17x11 45 offset 7 3/4in backspacing
