Default old man cam or cheatr cam for STS?

well it is almost impossible to find a 02+ z06 cam for my sts setup, as i have been unsuccessful for 2 weeks in finding one. i have been looking at other cams instead that dont require much tuning and would work good with the STS, and i have found two possibilities on thunder racing's website, so which would y'all recommend?

"old man" cam : 214/220 .600/.523 115 LSA

cheatr cam: 214/230 .601/.578 117 LSA

very similar, but which would be better if any?

call Rick over at Synergy, he has been doing custom cams for the STS cars for a while now, tell him your goals and he can get exactly what you need ground.

Scoggin D. has LS6 cms if thats what you want
Why so much lift (.600)? What other mods do you have? If you are wanting to use one of Thunders cams, I would lean more towards something like their 224/227 .563 .569 114. JMO though.

well does the lift make a big difference? i got your patriot springs and chromoly pushrods if thats what you mean. i really need a cam, like this week, because i need to get my car into my mechanic before school starts. i havent been successful in finding an ls6 cam, as they are all on backorder. i was just looking at thunder's website, and thought these cams would work with boost? but i wasnt sure. i just want a cam that will run with stock tuning so i can still drive it until i can order my sts kit.

The LPE cam will work w/o tuning. We have used one before. You may think about the GT2+3 also.

Did you mean 112LSA or 121? If it's 121, that is why you have such a good idle... Minimizing valve overlap is key in avoiding reversion... so any cam with very little "overlap" will work good, some better than others, but you catch my drift.

Billy,
Yeah, that cam is miniature in a 408ci engine. LOL I can only imagine what 207º intake duration would be like on a hog like that, run out of beans by 4500! =)
