Default People with WS6 air box and FTRA/SSRA

How did you cover up the opening in your larger WS6 air box for the FTRA and SSRA?

for the money, its not really worth it to buy either the FTRA or the SSRA because of the gap.... the old BG ram air was the was to go for ws6's but they are no longer made

So what you are saying is that they do not make anything to cover the large gap of the WS6 air box, making it not worth the FTRA/SSRA?

If that is the case, then I will just buy a regular airbox.

just get a stock air box and get a ftra/ssra it is worth the money has been proven many times, same reason i made my ram air intake to mimic it just to the max of like 3.5inches, also look at times for proof

I see what you are saying, and I'm not ruling it out. I just research and go back and forth a lot before I make a decision. And the UD pulley will be on the way shortly.

Would it make any sense to keep the WS6 box, get a SSRA, and not block off the air box opening?

Wait, your car dos have a WS.6 hood right? If so just debaffle it and call it good. That's just as close to ram air as those other kits, and it's free. Like previous posters have said, there are better things to spend your money on.

So just cut out the baffles built in the hood so it is direct from the opening to the air box. I have a SLP Ram Air HO hood and just cut awayYou can see into the airbox with the hood shut. The car makes a hell of a sucking noise. So many people think it's supercharged when I roll by. It's worth it to do the mod.

If you remove the baffles will rain water get into the intake? I also have a firehawk And have wanted to de-baffle the opening but I live in florida & it rains often.

You shouldn't have an issue. I have mine sealed with no baffles and have gone through some pretty bad thunderstorms. Filter gets a bit wet but no moisture gets through. You may want to go with an oiled filter if you do it though.

I think your original question was something along the line of the pic below? When I had the FTRA I made this block off plate from stainless, polished it, and it riveted in from the inside.

I have since switched to the Volant CAI with a debaffled hood and made custom ducts to force the air directly from the hood nostrils to the sealed Volant box.
