Chrysler has a PR event at Woodward, and GM drives the Camaro trailer in front of it.

LOL gotta love it! Check out the look on the guy's face!

And then he responds...

And thanks to Photoshop we get...

Hahaha! Let the wars begin. :D

FWIW, both of the Camaros on that trailer are perfectly driveable, but they were just setup like that for display purposes for the events that day.

Haha thats awesome but its kind of weird that the Chevy trailor would be getting pulled by a Ford truck

I highly doubt its a ford. But I thought the same thing, it does look kind of like a ford truck. I could be wrong, but it also looks like its either a Chevy Kodiak Model or a GMC Top kick model from their medium duty truck line.

Nope, look closer, it's a Chevy medium duty. :)

another article on the stunt:

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060816/AUTO01/608160389/1148

Jason Vines, Chrysler's top PR official, took the slow-speed Camaro drive-by as an invitation for a Dream Cruise rumble.

He (jokingly) called it a "wuss" move to haul the Camaros in a trailer rather than driving the vehicles by Duggan's.

"It slowly passed in the right lane," Ray Wert, Detroit associate editor for Jalopnik.com, told The Detroit News. "It was quite possibly the greatest coincidence in the history of automobiles."

yeah, right:jest:

First off I would like to say the New Camaro looks better than the Challenger in my opinion, and obviously it must have turned some heads considering it won the Concept Car Award over the Challenger.

Also, that pickup does look like a Ford, I thought it was an F-350 until I seen the posts. That would have been a major GM mess up lol.

I just hope chevy gives us an option to compete with the big hemi option that comes with those. If it is the srt-8 version then GM will have to have power in the LS7 range to beat it.

GM has already said that the new Camaro will have horsepower levels that are "more than the Mustang". If the GT500 is at 500 hp, that means the Camaro will be more than 500 hp.

I've been surffing the web reading all sorts of articles about this event, and just laughing it up like a little school girl the entire time. I love this shit. I hope this elbow fight continues between DC and Chevy, its great for free advertisment of the cars, and can only help what motors will end up under the hood of these beasts. (after all boys will be boys, and these boys/auto execs will only want to out do each other.) Not to mention, it adds a whole new dimension to the term "Muscle Car WARS " !!!!! :)

Has anyone seen all the activity recently at GM Performance Parts? The amount of options coming out of that devision is astounding. From rumors and hints of a 4.25" bore ls-based block, to dealer supplied cylinder heads that flow >320 cfm for less than $700 for the pair.

I give it till 2008 and you'll be able to put a 550 rwhp crate motor into a 98-02 fbody for right around $4000. That's block, pistons, crank, rods, intake, heads, injectors, cam, throttle bodies, etc. The whole works. All you would need to do is chose your headers and exhaust and program it.

Man this is getting exciting at GM.

Can you confirm/link this??

I am really on the fence which way I will go. if Chevy doesn't compete with the Cobra, I'll be switching to Ford which I really dont want to do. :barf:

The new Camaro could very well be my entry vehicle back into the LSx game.
Time will tell. The next car I get will get turbo'd immediately.

Wanna know why you think that? because the Challenger concept actually looks more like a Camaro than the Camaro :bang: . My sister pointed it out to me for crying out loud! Just look at a picture of the Challenger concept and cover up the grille or the rear (whichever angle the picture is from)... those body lines are pure '67 Camaro, and they're sexy!
