Default Homemade cutouts

I saw a thread the other day while doing some searching about a guy making his own cutout and putting it right before the muffler inline with the bend. now for the life of me I can't find that post or pictures.

This is something I'd like to temporarily do until I save up for a real header back exhaust, which will include a QTP electric cutout, ORY, and something nice like a GMMG or Borla. If I have to I'll just get a normal flowtech and put it in the I-pipe by the passenger seat but it just looks like easier access to it right before the muffler

So has anyone else done it like this? Most importantly, pics?

Ive seen people just take the stock catback off and run it off the Y pipe sounds just like a cutout

I can send you some pics of my setup. I basically got a 2 1/2" header collector reducer, with a 3" flange. Had a hole cut in the rear of the I-pipe where it bends to go up over the axle. Welded the reducer onto it there. It allows the exhaust to flow straight out the back.

Here's what I'm talking about. I had 3 bolts welded in the holes so that it would make removing my e-cutout and cap easier.

Yeah that's the type I was talking about. Do you have any installed pictures?

Is the difference between 2 1/2" to 3" negligible on our motors?

EDIT- I found the thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ector+reducers

That is exactly what I have. Costed me 60 bucks installed at a local exhaust place.

You have to buy those in pairs BTW. I have an extra if you're interested.
