Cleaning brake dust...HELP!

Cleaning brake dust...HELP! First, I'm sorry if this needed to be in the detailing section and not here. I was wondering were to put it and there is a sticky under the detailing section that says all things dealing with wheels needs to be in the wheels section, so don't flame me to bad if this is in the wrong section.
My question is simple, what are you guys using to get the brake dust off your wheels? I have the stock Z/28 split 5-spoke wheels. They are silver not chrome. And the front wheels (especially the driver side-guess I'm too much of a fat ***) are a biatch to get clean.
Please help with this, it's really starting to get on my nerves. My cars starting to be a 20/20 deal (looks good from 20 feet at 20mph) but once youe get close that brake dust is nasty.

good luck, i need to find something to do it too.
but i might just keep going without washing them and hope they stain into a gunmetal look.... haha

I hear you...That's about what my front wheels look like before I wash the damn thing. And then afterwards it actually looks worse because it just has these nasty faded stains all over it. I think it's just time to by some black rims

To answer your question, I use Simple Green Automotive for most stuff, including wheels. You may need to use a little polish on a Power Ball after they are dry to really get it all.
You state you have "silver" not "chrome" so use polish that you would use on paint.

I dont know if that is entirely true. i have ceramic pads and have the EXACT same problem. front wheels, especially the drivers side. i have gunmetal Z06's. i think they just attract dust, it sucks. i use meguires "Hot Rims" to clean that **** off there. as for in between times, take it on the chin... or keep alot of old rags handy

My Hawk Ceramic pads leave almost nothing on my silver SS wheels. I drove the car well over 1000 miles before I started noticing dust.
