I know at least you would need new backing plates, I don't know if the rear end is any narrower or not or if the suspension is set up the same. Depending on whether your car is 3 or 4 channel the abs/tcs might not work either.

91 is a 3rd gen, and if i remember correctly, the 3rd gens have wider axle/axle tubes....either wider or narrower...either or, i believe they are not the same length,

for some reason it's sticking in my head that the 4th gens are like and inch or something like that narrower then the 3rd gens.

someone else chime in? i know this is not a very 3rd gen oriented site, but maybe someone else will know. just my $0.02

3rd gen rears are narrower by 2" overall I believe. If you use one and your stock wheels, they will hit the inner fender well probably. You'd need to use wheels with a 3rd gen backspacing for clearance i'd guess.

3rd-gens would have to be narrower, because the offset of their rims are way shallower than the deep offset of 4th-gen wheels.

Yep, but I think it is 3" narrower. I have a 4th gen rear in my 3rd gen. The backing plates are different and there are no provisions for abs stuff. But to answer your question it will work with wheel spacers or different wheels and abs delete and backing plate change.

depending on his price it might be worth buying it then getting the bolt on wheel spacers from eibach or h&r. i think they run from $140 -$200.

ya it is 1.5 in narrower on each side but u can get spacers fairly cheap

To the thread starter: If you decide not to buy this rearend how about letting me know. A friend of mine is looking for a 12 bolt for a 3rd gen. Thanks.
