Default F1 Procharger for a 346 F-body?

Sorry guys, the search turned up nothing. Is it possible to use the large ATI F1 Procharger for a max effort 346? Will it fit with stock components (like AC, PS pump, etc.)? Does ATI even make a kit that will fit on an F-body or is this a complete custom job? Goal is 800+rwhp and I wasn't sure if the D1-SC had enough capacity to get there. Forged bottom end, AFR 225 heads and ported FAST 90 intake up top. Current NA power in signature. 800rwhp should be cake around 14lbs boost. Don't know if the dual core intercooler would cut it or if we're talking custom front-mount. Please advise.

yep it fits just like the d1, there are a couple sponsers that can get the ati kit with the f1, you would deff need a custom front mount intercooler.

A friend of mine just swapped out his p1 (same size as the d1) with an F1C and he had to put a little more lean on his radiator for the room.

Other users have had issues with the integrity of the Fast90 at those boost levels... Will you be keeping the same pistons and cam?

You should talk to PSJ or SilverGhost. PSJ had an F1 I believe, and Ghost has a D1SC, I think, but they would both be able to give ya alot of details.

I think Bob at EPP offers the F1-C upgrade for few hundred bucks more. I would go custom front mount on any Procharger kit as their dual IC setup is fairly inefficient once you get into the power numbers you're trying to make.

Yes, you are going to want a front mount intercooler for boost levels above 12 psi. I can order you the whole kit, minus the intercoolers, and substitute the D-1SC for a F1. You will need to move the bottom radiator bracket forward, which isn't too hard to do. Give me a call at 260 244-4808. Thanks. Bob

Are the FAST manifolds coming apart under high boost? How high? Yes, I will be keeping my same flat-top forged pistons, but I would be swapping to AFR 225 72cc chamberd heads (vs. my current 59cc) and swapping to a more boost-worthy cam like the 215/230 117LSA CheaTR cam.

I'd have to dig for the thread, but I could swear besides yours Onfire, that I read of it happening 2 other times. Unless I am really losing my mind I could-have sworn one of the other two was int he 15-17 psi range.

It's just something to keep in the back of your mind, I'd hate to see something with such re-sale potential get damaged

Ed, please give me a call at 260 244-4808, as ATI does not allow pricing below 7.5% of MSRP in any form of print. Thanks! Bob

800 rwhp huh Patrick? Better include a 12-bolt (or 9") rearend and driveshaft in that equation

Sounds like my setup. Only I was only making 650 rwhp with the LQ9 heads hand ported. The flat top forged pistons you have are -2cc? You could make that much power with a D1 IMHO. But the rest of the drive line needs to be addressed for you to enjoy it Why not just get a Victor Jr with the elbow? Seem like a winner to me and everyone who has one is satisfied and making big numbers.

No, I had a custom Vortech YSi setup making 680 - 754rwhp thru a T400.

Speed Inc. had their FAST 90 rupture at like 20-23 psi, I would ask them their thoughts.

Yes, my Diamond forged pistons have 2cc valve reliefs. If the FAST will hold under boost, I'd rather use it knowing that it's properly ported. I've heard the Victors don't flow as well as the ported FAST intakes without additional porting.

thats because they're a normal intake that matches the rest of the performance car world... not a "bolt on and forget it" part like everyone with a LS1 wants.
