In my opinion its not the best choice for the car. If you are planning on putting it a TA its probably not going to sound great. I am sure it will give you bass but with a subwoofer with a 4000 watt max you are going to need alot of power to push it to the limits. Plus if you are putting it in a TA I dont think there is enough room in the hatch for a big enough box. At one point I had two AWES12P by Audiobahn in a box that was 1.75 cubic feet per chamber in a different car and I made a box that was about 2.5 per side and there was a huge difference. And if you want to run your subs at 1 ohm for the most power you will have to have 3 subs because they are 3 ohms. If you want the most bass I would go with 2 12w6 or 2 12w7s, the w6s would be the cheapest and sound by far the best, dont get me wrong, I have heard the JBLS and they sound good but you are going to need more then 1 cubic foot per chamber to do it. :drive:

I switched from a 12W7 to a 12 GTi, and have not looked back since. The W7 is a great sub, don't get me wrong. I just like the GTi better. It plays louder then a W7, plays deeper, and does it all in a smaller box then a W7 needs.

Also, just because the sub says it can take 4000 watts max, doesn't mean you need that amount of power. The GTi is a very efficient sub. It plays plenty loud with a moderate amount of power. It can handle more power to get insanely loud.

The 12" Gti works great in a 1.2 to 1.5 cu ft sealed box. I now have mine in 2 cu ft boxes, but I'm a super anal SQ type, who is willing to sacrifice overall output for clean low end extension. But even in the 1.2 cu ft box I used to have, it outperformed my W7. In fact, my W7 with 700 watts would hit about 137 on an audiocontrol mic. The GTi with the same amp, did 141. And it sounded better too.

I have had several setups, ranging from a single GTi on 700 watts, then on to 1200 watts, and now 2 or them on 2400 watts. You can see all sorts of pics at www.djsexay.com .

I've been running GTi's in my Firehawk for about 4 years now. Feel free to ask me anymore questions you may have.
