When you go to pass someone but don't want to act like your racing, the car won't move fast so you give it more gas and it locks up and bam you takes off and almost goes side ways even when your not trying to.

That sounds like a part throttle shift settings
problem, more than the converter itself.

yea. i think the stock converter is set to stay locked up at 50% throttle and less. that means you have to mash it half way to the floor to get it to unlock. it pisses me off with the STOCK stall! if i ever get tuning done, i'm going to have them set it to unlock at 25% throttle. i would suggest you do the same
