Default Finished up my gauges

I finished up my gauges and used the firebird bezel. I think it turned out pretty good.

to make sure they lighted up fine i had to get a firebird stock 150 gauge face and installed that inplace of the stock camaro face that was on the cluster. then I just put the white overlays on top then I bought a firebird bezel with lense and viola! I got the ss stickers and bowtie from bfranker who does an awesome job.

Im not so good at write ups but ill try.

1. The first thing you need to do is get the plastic lense cover off that frames the lense of the gauges. There should be 2 screws at the top that need a socket wrench to take off. (I forget the size)

2. After that is off there should be a total of 4 screws in each corner holding the gauge cluster on. There the same size screws as the ones holding on the lense cover.

3. Now there should be two clips you push down on the top of the cluster that will allow you to release the lense.

4. After you have the lense off and the gauges are exposed clean the area with alcohol .

I recommend to install these around dusk so its not totally dark but dark enough that when you have the lights on the overlays will be easier to get lined up.

You should NOT have to remove the needles. They should slip on by moving the needles through the holes on the overlay.

5. Spray the back of the overlays will soapy water so that you can apply them and still use the lights to line them up.

6. After you line them up to the lights use a straight edge to get all the water out and let them dry.

voila! you got white gauges. the gauges only costed me around 40 bucks and the vinyl ss and bowtie only costed me around 9 bucks with shipping. the firebird bezel costed me around 60 bucks.

Sorry for no pics but when I installed them i didnt know I was going to be doing a write up.

Sorry to sound dumb but when your talking about the firebird bezel it's the trim piece in the outside of the white faced gages correct? How would this work on a 98 model? Would it be the same by using a 98-02 firebird bezel with a camaro white faced gage inlay? Looks really good BTW! I'd like to do that to my 98 with a red Z-28 decal in there.

yeah, when you get a 98-2002 firebird bezel its also connected to the lense. Its not 2 seperate pieces
