90mm MAF
Does any make a true 90mm MAF or larger that will work with an LS1?
I am running an 85mm Z06 MAF now, but it is more restrictive then my 90TB, looking for something bigger.

Do you really need the MAF? Speed Density closed loop tuning would solve your problem while still allowing broad correction for altitude and weather changes. The only reason why I'd see running a MAF would be for a dry nitrous shot, but now with EFI Live's custom nitrous operating system, you can ramp up the injector pulse width without even needing a MAF...very cool.
To answer your question, yes, there are several aftermarket manufacturers that make oversized MAFs for the Ford market. I'm not sure how involved it would be to adapt to the GM wiring and software.

I am planning to do a SD to get VE table correct, then reconnect and correct the MAF table. I thought that having the MAF connected, it would help keep the tune closer with different weather condition changes. Is this true?
I am not sure as I am new to the SD tuning stuff.
If the tune could stay calibrated year round I would go MAF-Less

the only time i will go speed density is when i have a FAST lsx 90mm intake with the 90mm throttle body, the mass air will just hinder its performance, but with the ls6 and ported throttle body, its staying mass air.Just be sure your speed density tunes are dead on and your good to go.

I will give it a try.
I am still using Edit and ready to upgrade to a new tuning tool.
What do you recommend?

I've read several posts stating that running a Sd tune with a smaller cam is not very effective. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Just going by info that I found doin searches here. I'm goin with a fast 90/90 and a custom Lsa 228R with LS6 PRC's and was wondering about the whole 90 maf thing too.

Bob, I've used both HPT and EFI Live and prefer the tuner in my signature because of its broader capabilities and real-time tuning interface allowing changes to every parameter on the fly.

Cool, I might go that route if anyone here is a capable enough tuner to do so.
Not to jack the thread or anything but, will running the stock Maf with a 90/90 combo effect Hp or Tq any great enough amount to justify Sd?

HumpinSS did a back to back dyno SD vs MAF. There was a slight difference in HP & TQ between the runs, but not enough to justify saying SD is better than MAF or visa versa.
The following threads may help you:
How the MAF works:

MAF vs SD on the dyno:

Tuning docs:

Also, the SD tuning link in my sig will give you an idea of what it takes to set up and tune in SD. The other link is to www.greenlightmotorsports.com Chad can get you set up with a WB and EFILive.
