Default 550rwhp+150shot-who sells my tranny?

I am going to be running 550 rwhp plus a 150 shot (maybe some more). What kind of tranny build do I need for this? I was thinking a FLP stage 4 unit because I don't want to spend $2650 for the stage 5. Would a stage 4 hold up? Who else is out there that makes a monster trans for a decent buck? Or should I go with a th400? Also any ideas for a stall? I was thinking about a somewhere around the 4k rpm but what brand?

You'd be better off going Turbo 350 or 400. You would have to go with a Level 5 if you stay 4L60E

At the shop I go at all his trans. are from Rodney at RPMtransmissions.Look for the red corvette (james gray @Quick Rev)700RWHP and that is his old set up.He's now right around 900plus goinfor 1000hp.Jim also done custom turbo for a99cadillac and Rodey did the trans on it.The caddy @4000lbs runs low 12.I never heard of RPMtrans. til I asked Jim who does the trans. for all his customers car and all are thruogh RPM.You dont hear much about them here, but you will on the corvette forums.

Call Gearstar or http://www.gearstartransmission.com/
but it sounds like you are in need of a TH400 or 4L80-e

Rock-On, FLT, and Roosler are the big three in 4L60E's right now. I went with Rock-on and it is bullet proof.

I am running the FLP Level IV, but I don't plan on it lasting too long.

If you want a transmission 4L60E thats gonna last with that combo you are gonna spend 2500 dollars at least , you would need a trans with the following
hardened input shaft and drum (called the torq drive package )It also includes a larger 3-4 apply piston , 9-10 friction 3-4 clutch or alternatly a z pack . The trq package also includes a hardened steel sunshell with a reinforced plate weilded to the botom a cut down height wise hardened low race it runs a bearing between the shell and the race rather than a washer like the beast shell and the stock one , A wide band perferably high energy composit (not kevlar).5 pinion planets front and rear , 29 element sprag a must , .500 boost valve , And more
This stuff isnt cheap which is why such a hi price tag but as i was told when i was 16 and building a car by and old mechanic , speed = $ how fast do you wanna go ?
Personally however if this is a street driven car I would definatley stay with the 4l60e , TH400 You loose low end power due to gear ratios , It weighs more, and if you actually like drivng the car the money you saved by going th400 would be quickly eaten by the fuel efficiency loss from no fourth gear , While I know we all say power is everything and I love it myself Its no fun if you cant afford to drive the car around town and show off .
just my opinoin

So call Dave and let him help take care of the problems. He has great customer service. Are you sure it isn't a tuning issue?
