Default New Trans Am Convertible spoiler...

So i had this idea and havent found any discussion on it, i was thinking would it really be impossible to retrofit a regualr trams am spoiler on a convertible. My buddy doesnt seem to think so but i think with the right fabrication it would be possbile. Has anyone done this? I know ther would be an insane amount of work and that the spolier on the convt. doesnt just come off but i think that if someone could do it it would be awesome.

(EDITED May 5th)

i know this is an old thread but here's my 2 cents.

1. I thought about getting a camaro conv trunk lid and trimming of the rear portion to fit above the trans am logo panel so it's straight across like the t/a. Trim up the sides where the old camaro spoiler was attached so it flows smoothly into the t/a fender. The the camaro trunk lid is already shaped like the lid on a regular t/a.

2. get an up level ta spoiler and place it on the lid. you will have to cut the spoiler midway back since the conv trunk lid is shorter than the regular ta hatch. Make sure it's angled properly for clearance when opening.

3. mark and drill some holes in the underside of the lid and sink in something into the spoiler for your mounting screws to thread into.

with a little creativity, fiberglass, mud, sanding and paint it shouldn't be too bad.

i have put a lot of thought into this in the past!
also could just get on of those stick on lip spoilers i have seen on a few of the formula's and v6's. i think they're made by erubuni.

good luck!!

Somebody on here has done this to a red T/A vert, you can see where the factory spoiler ends and where the regular T/A spoiler begins. Overall it looks great!

*edit* Found the pic I was talking about

The car belongs to Wally Wimple(user name)

It can look nice but it sticks out a little to far in those pics.

They put the small spoiler so that drivers can see out the back. Ever notice how small that rear window is on a vert. Guaranteed that guy can't see **** with the top up.

2 spoilers stacked on each other always makes a problem for looking at rearview mirror.
