i keep blowing amp fuses. i think it all started when my power wire got pinched. i cut the pinched section off and reattached the power wire to the RF amp. still blowing fuses everytime i turn on the headunit. cleaned the ground really good, still blowing fuses. 7 fuses later i tried my amp in my brother's truck, blew his fuse. must be something wrong with my amp. what could it be? it is a rockford fosgate 600W 4 channels <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" />

600W/12V=50A if the thing is 100% efficient
and you're driving full load full volume.
Is this a problem at turnon, or just when
you commence to jamming?
Might be that during startup you have some
"thump" that draws a lot of inrush current.
Capacitor-blocked inputs will see a one-time
surge that an amp might try to boost up, and
draw lots of juice doing it, when you turn
things on the first time.
What kind of fuse are you using? You might
want to try something slower-acting like a
circuit breaker of similar rating. These you
can find at AutoZone etc. for a couple of
bucks, and at least they're self-resetting,
You should check that the speakers are not
shorted etc., this could add to your power
draw. Paralleling too much load will elevate
current as well.
