Default Turbo question (please dont laugh)

I asked if a Power stroke or Cummins 1 ton truck turbo could be used for my LS1 and a few guys said that it would be too small. One guy mentioned that it would be too small and he had actually used the turbo off a school bus, well I went to a salvage yard and found one on an older indernationa school bus. It has the DT466 engine and a Garrett/ Air research TO4. Is that the proper size, some other #'s on the ID tag were BBM060 991523091. Can anyone get me pointing in the right direction? Thanks

If that doesn't work I have one off of an 8.2 Detroit that come out of a dump truck. It needs a rebuild but it is a good housing as far as I know and it would be very cheap

Here is a good source for do-it-yourself turbo work.

Dino one of the administrators has a 2002 Camaro with a Holset turbo. Lots of good information on DIY turbo systems. Good Luck

www.junkyardturbos.com/

in case the link doesn't work, the site is

www.junkyardturbos.com

Check out the projects section to see his setup and how he did it.
