Default Ghost flame question

I have been wanting to get some ghost flames on my red Z. Just wondering from anyone who has them done what it costed them to get it all finished. I would like to get an SS hood first and then put the ghost flames on that as well as along the front fender of the car. so any help in this would be appreciated so I can figure out how much just the paint job will probably cost me. Thanks

Depending on where you go and have do it will depend on price. Also How intriquite you want to get. My buddy had ghost flames put on his white 03 Cobra from the hood back to the fenders. He had the Pearl metallic flames put on, it ran him around $1,500 to have it all sanded, painted, cleared, and wet sanded.

These cost about $1000.00, but they are not very "ghosty"......

Yea, remember, the further you go back and the more panels you include in the flames it is going to raise the cost. In other words, just say you have flames on the hood only. That's going to be a LOT less than if you extend even one little speck of flame onto both fenders because both fenders will have to be sanded as prep and then re-cleared after that tiny bit of flame goes on there.

agreed - its more about how far back you'd like to go... if you want to go back into the doors it takes more time to sand and finish (obviously)... how far back were you thinking?

If you just want to do fenders and the hood id say $1500 - throw the doors in for another $500.

ghost flames are pretty easy to do not that hard, the sanding part will take maybe hour and half. taping off flames maybe 30 min. taping up the flames 45min. then you add a very very thin coat of a pearl whatever color you want the flames and only 1 coat then clear it, then put it in on bake in the paint booth for like an hour and let it dry pull tape and paper off and waaa laaa you now have ghost flames.. bout 6 hour job start to finish... and material cost: sandpaper: $30 roll
Clear coat: quart $150
Pearl : $50
Tape : cheap
Wax paper: $50 roll
not totally for sure bout prices of wax paper and pearl but still that is how much the shops have in it and they charge you $1500 there making a killing off yall.

Well I was thinking just on the hood and maybe a little on the front fenders. I plan on getting my car repainted so this would be done at that time. I have a plan in mind, I just hope it looks ok when everything is finished.
