It works best with 00 steel wool. You can remove the spots off of the tops, front, back, side, and mirrors. There was a thread about it already
Heres some more info on it

Claybar or a good paint cleaner should fix you right up.

I had the waterspots from hell on my windsheild. Tried vinegar and all kinds of crap. I remembered that toothpaste polished up the plastic tailights good. So I tried it. Worked awesome, the spots are all gone. Just spread some on with your fingers, spray it with glass cleaner to thin it out and start rubbing it in with a cloth. When you wipe it off the spots will be gone. Didn't work on the paint lol

Take a rag and soak it in the vinegar mix and then lay it on the spots with the water spots. Let them sit for 5-10 minutes so it can dissolve the dried mineral deposits which is what water stains are.

You can also use a dilute mixture of CLR (calcium, lime, rust) and do the same thing. Just make sure you are careful around the paint.

I always treat my glass the same way I do my paint. It gets claybar'd, polished and waxed just like the paint.

If you use steel wool, use the quad 0 (0000) since it is the finest grade of steel wool. It won't scratch the glass but will remove most everything. Think of it as 4000 grit sandpaper.
