Default Intake and TB Compatibility??

I have a bbk ssi intake manifold w/ a stock throttle body and i want to upgrade to a 90mm unit. BBK claims the intake opening is 85mm. Will this setup work anyway or will additional porting be necessary. And how much hp can i expect to gain from a 90mm tb and 85mm SLp Maf on a Heads/Cam/bolt on car?? Thanks for your Time!!

It may not be enough to be worth the trouble. Sell the manifold and go with the FAST setup if you want true 90/90.

+1 with the above.

The main reason being the opening is often less important than the plenium chamber inside the manifold. This is why on a correct setup a 78mm FAST will perform very well.

Although interestingly, TPIS do modifiy the LS6 intake to incorporate a 90mm opening and a 90mm TB and have seen good results, still not as good as a FAST 90/90 though.

the people who make the typhoon manifold make a 85mm tb, byunspeed has a satin finish less than $200. I'm going to give it a try with the ssi.

You can always port the bbk manifold for the 90mm tb
