Pilot Bushing Question?

Default Pilot Bushing Question?

[B]Doing my instal in the morning...spec stage 3 with new billet flywheel, 408 with all the goodies,,,someone suggested I needed a speacial pilot bushing?...Please enlighten me, I want to be rolling by Friday, and if I need to overnight one,I want to get started ASAP!!!!!!

A new Pilot bushing/bearing should come with the clutch kit. That one should be fine to use.

Cool, the clutch only 7 months old with less than 5k on on it...Am I still ok?..

Well you could reuse the old one I suppose, but the Spec Stage 3 kit should come with a new one. If it does (can't see why it wouldn't) then be sure to use that one.

I guess it looks wrong.....The spec stage clutch is 7 months old with less than 5k on it...I've been down since Feb...installing new motor (408)and new spec billet steel fly wheel in the morning....Is my pilot bushing ok,, or do I need a new one for this motor?...Rember, lees than 5k on it...

As long as the Polit bushing fits the new flywheel and is in good condition (i.e. not physically damaged, burned up, ect) then it should be fine. Its purpose is bacially just to keep the input shaft in place, its not like a flyhweel that has to be replaced/resurfaced when you change the clutch, the Pilot can be reused. Be sure to lubricate it if its reccommended, bronze ones are self lubricating so no grease is required, but not all are like that.
