Default Opinions??? 96-97 SS spoiler on an 02 Z28?

I wanted to change the spoiler on my 02 Z28. I thought about an LS1 SS spoiler, but since I have the SS hood, I dont want to come across like one of those SS "fakers." I was thinking about going with an LT1 SS spoiler. I like it b/c it has the small flip up on it, it doesnt have the pillars, and I think it's somewhat understated and it would go with the somewhat understated looks of my car right now. Will the LT1 SS spoiler even fit? Does anyone know if the brake light will work? Im assuming that it would. Let me know what you guys think. All opinions are welcome. Here is a pic of my car, and a pic of the LT1 SS spoiler. I think it would look kinda' good.

Try to imagine them black....

They look good because their subtle but I like the led stop light on the LS1 spoiler more.

I like the LED light more too. Oh well, I guess you cant have your cake and eat it too....

Does anyone know what if the LT1 SS spoiler would bolt right up to an LS1 car?

Would it look cheesey if I just went with an LS1 SS spoiler?

Thanks in advance, folks!

Anyone know for sure if the LT1 SS spoiler will bolt right up as far as fitment goes, and the harness for the 3rd brake light?

yes the lt1 spoiler bolts right up, and yes actually you can use the light. all you do is splice the positives together and splice the negatives. its really simple and almost any complete idiot can do it. i upgraded to the ls1 spoiler from the 97 lt1 style, which as you all know came stock on my car

also, ifyour looking for a different spoiler than the ls1 style check mecham, it looks like the 97 style but it has the led of the ls1 style.

only problem with mecham is quality control, you never know if your getting a good product or something totally jacked up.

mechamperformance

link above is for the spoiler

Thanks Phantamzer0! If thats all thats needed to do for the brake light, then thats pretty simple. I'll check out the Mecham spoiler too.

All 93-02 spoilers interchange. A 96-97SS spoiler is basically just a stock spoiler that has another piece bonded on. If its an OEM spoiler you can see that they're 2 pieces. Because of this fact the brake light is a stock 93-02 light and will plug right into your existing harness unless someones already done some cutting on it. I use to have an OEM 96-97 SS spoiler on my car and i wish i had it back instead of the 98+.
