i would assumje your asking for your own car????sleeves are not needed there is plenty of clearance around the plugs

Im not running truck manifolds as you know John but its nice insurance just in case....
I like mine.... we burned a plug wire on my car...

im not running a sleeve right now, seems to be doing ok. no signs of melting anywhere.

I don't run em, and my wires are great. There is plenty of clearance, plus the stock heatshield that bolts to the manifolds works pretty good. Arent your truck manifolds coated as well?

Yep. Truck headers. My coil packs are re-located to under the dash, and without the sleeves they would be setting on the headers. Work great. No problems.

Make sure you check the heat ratings on the sleeve's. Usually the cheap ones are only rated to 500degrees.

My hotsides all have black hi-temp coating. I don't believe in relocating the coils, I like them in the stock location. It's an awesome setup and one of my favorite aspects of the LSx series.

What kind of high temp coating is functional (like equal to wrapping them)?

HOw well will powdercoat hold up on the truck manifolds for a turbo setup?

Its not a powdercoating. Its thermal coating, BIG difference. I'm sure John went with a thermal retention coating on all hot side pipes.

The black thermal coating should be good up to 2k degrees.

on my silver ceramic coating i had on my tti kit it would reduce the surface temperature by 100*F (measured)
