Cool LS1 Z28 vs turbo AWD Talon

Tonight I raced a buddy of mine who has an AWD Talon. Just last night he ran 12.68 @ 110mph on a 1.8 60ft. We ran from 30mph and I got a quick jump on him off the start, but we both held dead even through 3rd. Once I hit 4th it was all over I started walking him, but there was traffic so I had to let off.

I noticed how slow I shifted in my other video, but that was stock shifter. Pro 5.0 made a night and day difference now in this one lol.

Actually its a pretty serious setup, but he sold the old turbo kit so he just has a 14b on it for now running it around until the new turbo goes on. I don't know all the details but I know its a built 2.4L and previously did 603whp with the old turbo setup. He usually shifts around 8500 with the big turbo, but the stock 14b just runs out of air so he was shifting at around 6000.

Well done, you had smooth quick shifts near as I could tell. You probably dropped your ET with that shifter then.

The 14B is a big limiter up top, but the mid range matters more in 2nd and 3rd, and he would have plenty, and you were about as fast there. Sweet.

Now start modding

Yeah that 2.4L moved with the GT40 on it. Now he is putting a GT42 on soon.

Thus why he is only shifting at 6000 instead of 8500 lol. Its only temporary. He just had a 14b sitting around, so he threw it on so he could drive the car while waiting for the new turbo to arrive. But yeah he is spiking to 20psi but tapering to only 12.

Everyone loves to tell me how stupid I am to be running an Evo 3 16G on my 2.4. I can imagine what they say about that setup.

I wonder if he'd get you from a dig. AWD cars never shine from rolls.

Most likely yeah he should get me from a dig. I am still getting used to launching it, and I am getting 2.1 60fts still while he got 1.8's.

An Evo 16G... I imagine that is rough on a 2.4L... Why do you run that? A 14b would be rediculous, Evo 16G not as bad, but still...

It can flow about 400WHP worth of air in a really done 2.0. I think that with a 100% OEM head I can hit like 350ish with an extrude honed intake mani. I ported the crap out if it, the ex mani, and the 02 housing. And it will be a awesome powerband from about 3500 to low 6 ish. Fun. I can always go for something larger later, the E3 was only 485 shipped. I love price wars LOL.
