ws6 store short stick
I just received and installed my short stick. It took a little longer than 10 mins cause I was missing my 6mm allen wrench but it wasnt a big deal. Anyways the difference is pretty much night and day. I am running a stock shifter and I read that it may hit the console but it doenst seem to have that problem. It made all the shifts feel more precise and more firm. It is noticibily less clunky feeling than the stocker. Now I just have to find a nice ****. If anyone has one for sale let me know.

missing thrid at WOT isn't the shifters fault, that just driver error.
I'm runnin the WS6 store stick & a MBA ****. I couldn't be happier. I haven't missed a gear since it went in. If you are running a **** with a tail it WILL hit the center console in 2nd, 4th, & 6th. I had to switch from a SLP **** to the MBA to stop it from happening.

I can post some tomorrow when I come into work. I will post pics of it in neutral & all 6 gears so you can see how close it is at every angle it could go. although there is no problems with the top shifts or goin into reverse. It only touches on hard shifts into 2nd, 4th, & sometimes 6th, but not too often.

It's not just the drivers fault for missing 3rd. Hundreds of people on this board alone have missed 3rd, and every single one of them can't be a bad driver. I've been driving sticks for years, including having a CDL and driving big trucks. I missed 3rd 3 times, and wound up replacing the rear, the same exact problems many, many other people have had with stock stifter/rear. The long stick, coupled with rubber bushings aren't made for all out power/speed shifting. They're designed for average driving, with ease of shifting and noise reduction in mind. I installed the SLP shifter and WS6 Store stick, and noticed a huge differance. Never missed a shift, no matter how hard I bang the gears. Plus, it's alot louder, you hear a whine, which is normal since there is less noice reducing materials. Also, with said parts and using the stock Hurst ****, I don't hit the console at all, in any gear.

No one wants to admit it, but it's really driver error...
considering that some SS cars have been driven into 12's by various professionals...
I have the short stick and I love the feel of it, no console hitting. Shifting becomes more precise because there is no rubber isolator anymore. My main issue was hitting the gates sometimes on the 3-4 shift. What I found was not my shifter or myself was the problem, but my transmission mount. The engine torque was allowing a good amount of movement of the transmission at WOT. A shift around 4krpm was almost guaranteed to miss 4th due to that being peak power. After changing it to a slightly modded energy suspension mount, I can do the 3-4 shift quite cleanly now.

I got my short-stick yesterday, and installed it this morning...in about 5 minutes! I can honestly say it's the best $25 I've spent on any mod. I took the car out immediately after installing it, and was VERY surprised. I get a true "feel" when shifting, and not the "rubbery" sensation, especially at full throttle. My factory Hurst **** went right on, and the console doesn't ever come into play. I highly recommend this mod to all M6 folks.

They make it in two lengths. I would think as long as the holes line up, it would work. You can call them and ask. It's a quality piece, along with instructions that a monkey could follow...hell, I did it!

I bought the shorter stick, and I have the hurst short throw shifter in my car. Holly crap is it fun to drive! I cant beleive I waited so long to buy that little guy! The car is great for spirited driving and such. I still miss third every once in a while, but that is becuase I get excited and push a little too far and it gets stuck between 3rd and 5th. Not the cars fault, its the loose nut behind the wheel.
