Default LS1 forever!!!

Well...maybe not, but how many miles should one last shifted at the stock rev-limiter,and given decent maintenance?

So if I am forced to get a 75K mile car to get an 02 LS1 M6 Z28, its not a bad thing as long as she is cared for? (I have my heart set on spending no-more than 13K + TTL for an 02 Z28, LS1...this will take place in 07' though, so thats 1 more year de-valuation and I do live near dallas/houston).

75k isn't THAT much for an LS1. It is relatively high mileage, but a lot of people are running decent sized cams with that much mileage. I just wouldn't plan on running boost or any major power adder on an engine with that many miles. A decent sized cam and possibly a set of heads making somewhere in the low 400's would probably be the most I'd want to run. Then again there are people that defy the odds every day.

That isnt too bad for mileage. As long as it was maintained it should be good

With maintenance, a stock motor could easily outlive the rest of the car. 200K or more mot too far fetched if you dont beat her up too much.
